How a company deals with energy, CO₂ emissions, waste and water consumption has a major impact on the environment. Our primary goal is to minimize the consumption of all resources in the production and operation of our venues and to make a contribution to environmental protection.
Measures & Principles
Key topics on which we are taking action:
- Energy consumption & emissions
- Resource consumption
- Reusability
- Waste
We take responsibility:
- We minimize our environmental footprint through by using energy and resources efficiently and reducing emissions and waste.
- We strive to make positive contributions to environmental protection by taking both production and operational measures.

Key Facts
New Photovoltaic System at the Headquarters in Gumpoldskirchen
For many years, NOVOMATIC has sourced energy from renewable sources wherever possible and is consistently committed to using clean energy in all countries.
Our location in Spain, for example, generates more than half of the energy it requires with 320 solar modules from a PV system. In Romania, 411 panels installed on the warehouses offset the entire annual energy consumption of the Romanian headquarters. In Germany, a total of 1,430 panels were installed on an area of around 3,000 m². We also rely on renewable energy in Australia, and the company's own photovoltaic system generates over 306 MWh of green electricity every year. The site in North Macedonia, which was built in 2022, also contributes over 75 MWh. Further photovoltaic systems are already being planned in the central core markets in order to generate a significant proportion of the electricity required without emissions.
At our headquarters in Gumpoldskirchen, we are currently building one of the largest rooftop photovoltaic systems in Lower Austria with about 5,000 solar panels covering an area of around 20,000 m². Once fully operational in 2024, this PV system, the largest in the Group, will generate more than 2 million kilowatt-hours of emission-free energy each year, covering a significant proportion of the annual electricity consumption of the company site.
